This release strengthens document governance by enforcing reviewer authorization, tightening workflow controls, and simplifying document creation. These updates reduce risk, prevent unauthorized actions, and improve consistency across the document lifecycle.
Release Details
This release will only affect clients participating in the Document Types beta.
Beta Features
Simplified Document Creation
- Enabled assignment of document owners and readers at the time of creation.
- Reduced unnecessary workflow configuration during document setup while preserving required controls.
Improved Metadata & Version Accuracy
- Automatically removed deprecated metadata when document type frontmatter changes.
- Corrected the display of added and removed changes when comparing document versions.
Features
Stronger Workflow & Review Controls
- Enforced reviewer-based approval so only assigned users can approve or reject workflow reviews.
- Restricted access to review drafts to authorized reviewers only.
- Limited workflow advancement to admins, document owners, or assigned reviewers.
- Restricted document publishing to document owners.
General Enhancements
- Minor usability improvements and bug fixes.
Release Window
- The upgrade will be performed on February 2, 2026, between 7:00–9:00 AM ET.
