Archer announces the General Availability of Document Governance Release September 24, 2025. 

Release Details 

This release delivers several stability and usability improvements, including fixes for duplicate metadata appearing in drafts and more efficient handling of background directory-sync jobs. We’ve streamlined notifications so that changes to template frontmatter no longer generate emails, and added clearer guidance when attempting to remove a workflow that is set as the default for new documents.

Key features 

• Improved Data Consistency – Resolved an issue that could cause draft metadata fields to appear duplicated.
• Smarter Notifications – Updates to template frontmatter will no longer trigger unnecessary email notifications.
• Clearer Workflow Management – Users will now see an error if they attempt to remove a workflow that is set as the default for new documents.
• Optimized System Performance – Corrected the Archer directory-sync background job so it runs at the intended frequency.

• We will be performing the upgrade on September 24, 2025 between 7-9am ET.
