Upcoming Major Feature Enhancement - BETA Testing
Early December we will be starting to BETA the new Document Types feature. This will change how templates (now Document Types) are created and managed.
Key Features:
- Document Types - The ability to create multiple document types for different domains or processes.
- Header and footers - Set header and footer information at the Document Type level.
- Content - Add default content for a document that can be overwritten.
- Workflows - Workflows will no longer be global but able to be managed at a document type level.
- Access - Locking down creation of documents to specific groups.
- Document level Access - Within a document being able to restrict access to specific people or groups.
- Document Type Versioning and Reconciliation - you can create a new version of a document type while one is still in use. Then when you are ready it will push down to the documents you would like to be synced to the latest version. (Primarily focused on the Document Type Content; header and footer.)
Not in scope for the initial release: Archer integration. Existing templates will continue to push to Archer but new Document Types won't. This will be the next area of focus following the initial release.
This is a fairly large change to how Doc Gov operates today, to mitigate some of the risks we are looking for BETA partners to test out this functionality and provide any feedback.
To do this we will turn this on for select clients in their dev or non-prod instances. THIS WILL NOT BE ROLLED OUT TO ALL CLIENTS OR ENVIRONMENTS LIKE A NORMAL RELEASE.
If you would be a part of the this BETA test please add a comment below saying "BETA". I will reach out to you soon with more details.
Based on the results of the BETA test we will communicate a broader roll out soon. Thanks all!
