Summary
Effective October 31, 2026, all existing Archer Insight deployments hosted on Archer SaaS will be upgraded to Archer Insight v5.0.
This upgrade is required due to updates to Archer's logging and traceability infrastructure, which are not supported by previous Archer Insight versions.
Requirements, Recommendations, and Key Benefits
Archer Insight v5.0 requires installation of the Archer Insight 2025.04 Use Case Package.
Customers currently using Archer Insight v4.2 or v4.3 must install the Archer Insight 2025.04 Use Case Package to ensure that Archer Insight dashboards, assessments, and listing pages continue to function properly after the upgrade.
In addition to platform compatibility requirements, Archer Insight v5.0 introduces several significant enhancements.
Enhanced Risk Quantification Using Loss Events
Loss Events are now incorporated into quantitative risk assessments. Historical loss event data can be used to generate estimates for the frequency and impact of risk events within Actual and Actual/Inherent assessments.
Control Cost-to-Value Analysis
Several new capabilities have been introduced to support control effectiveness and return-on-investment (ROI) analysis:
- Controls Listing Page
- Provides a centralized view of all control procedures.
- Displays annual control cost, annual value generated through loss prevention and impact reduction, annual net value, and annual net value ratio (ROI).
- Control Quantification Dashboard
- Provides rankings of controls based on expected loss reduction and annual net value.
- Allows users to display either the top or bottom-performing controls (configurable).
- Supports filtering by the organization responsible for funding the controls.
- Control Properties Modal
- Enables users to add, update, and delete control cost information directly within the Insight user interface.
Corporate Heat Map Scaling
The Economic/Total Impact Heat Map on the Risk Quantification Dashboard now includes a Use Corporate Scale option in the Settings menu.
This feature enables organizations to standardize heat map visualization using predefined minimum and maximum economic impact values. These values are configured within the Corporate Global Variables application under the new Heat Map Corporate Scale section.
Additional Guidance for Existing Archer Insight 4.x Customers
While Archer Insight v5.0 delivers significant new functionality and platform enhancements, customers currently running Archer Insight 4.x should review the accompanying Archer Insight v5.0 Data Migration Guide before upgrading.
The Archer Insight 2025.04 Use Case Package includes several architectural changes that require migration of existing configuration and relationship data. These changes primarily affect Driver Probability, Upstream Risk Probability, Utility Scale configuration, and Heat Map scaling settings.
Refer to the Archer Insight v5.0 Data Migration Guide for detailed migration requirements and step-by-step instructions.
