Limited to only 20 items on Record Lookup

Is there a way to increase the amount of record look ups available to select at one time in on demand applications? Currently it seems that users are limited to only 20 per page. For someone who by the end of the month is selecting almost 5,000 records of data, this limitation makes work very inefficient. If there is no way to increase this, is this something devs can look in to changing?
