SRD can't save b/c "at least one User, Group, Static of Field recipient is duplicated"

I needed to make an update to a Scheduled Report Distribution (SRD) and it wouldn't allow me to save giving me the warning message of "At least one User, Group, Static of Field recipient is duplicated. Please remove the duplication(s) before saving."

I have a user listed in the To and a group listed in the Cc. I checked the group to see if anyone was duplicated and there isn't. If I remove this group as a recipient, it allows me to save. But why won't it allow me to keep a group listed? Is this a defect in the version we're on (6.9.3)?
