    How are stacked reports in iViews from classic dashboards to be handled in the new dashboards? I have not seen this feature covered in any of the demos I attended or in any of the product documentation so far reviewed.

    From my view this doesn't really appear to be user focused or an enhancement to the 'customer experience' but rather ease of administration on the backend when it comes to maintaining dashboards. With existing dashboards used for metrics, there can be numerous reports stacked by category that will now likely need to exist in a flat dashboard with endless scrolling to review the content, or multiple dashboards to have the 'single pane of glass' view on a metric set.

    It would be good to support this decision on a justification on 'why' this is being forced. A long transition window is helpful but it really doesn't help with an understanding on the need for change.

    To clarify, stacked reports are supported in the new dashboards. Reports can be stacked directly by dragging and dropping a report from the left panel onto another report within the dashboard canvas. This allows related metrics to remain grouped together.

    While not every session would highlight all dashboard interactions, stacked reporting is a supported and intended design pattern in the new dashboard experience. This capability is also covered in Archer Academy materials, FFTHs(Link to FFTH) and the dashboard help documentation includes a short video demonstrating how multiple reports can be stacked and organised.

    Regarding the broader question of why the change is happening: The goal is to provide a more consistent, flexible, and scalable dashboard experience that supports modern interaction patterns (including responsive layouts, and ease of use), while still allowing customers to build “single pane of glass” views for related metrics.

    Will we still be able to see and use iViews? I ask because we utilise an iView for the Sharepoint integration.

    This seems like another case of being told "take it and like it because we know what's best for you even if you don't want it". Archer folks have been spending too much time with Apple perhaps. And given how big some of us clients are, there is a LOT of work that will need to be done to socialize and transition these dashboards over, and some users and departments will not be fully onboard and that will take time. Just like NGRX, this is something that apparently Archer thinks we can easily transition over to, whether we want to or not. Another notch in the "con" column .

    Are widgets still limited to only 6 reports in the new dashboard design? We have several iViews in our classic dashboards with more than 6 reports. I've not yet evaluated how these will appear in the new dashboard layout using the conversion tool.

    Upto 15 reports can be stacked. All the supported reports will be converted as is using the conversion tool.

    Just to provide some context, the new dashboards have been available in the product since 2023, and both dashboard types have co-existed for some time to give customers the opportunity to gradually explore and adopt the newer capabilities.

    As part of the platform’s evolution, we do need to retire the older dashboard so we can continue to focus on a single, newer and better experience.

    If you have specific concerns or scenarios you’d like to discuss, I’d be happy to connect and walk through them together.

    I assume this is being implemented using custom iViews. We have custom widgets on New Dashboard that can be used for SharePoint integration.

    Yes, and we were just notified that there was an impending tombstone with less than a year notice. This along with the NGRX changes that we have to test, test again, reconfigure, test again, and have the users come in to test, make additional changes, have users test again and validate, then finally push to PROD takes a lot of time in a large organization using many use cases and applications. All while keeping the wheels on the bus as part of maintaining the platform.

    I understand the need to grow and mature the platform, but I think Archer's tombstone dates are rather ambitious. Time may flow differently in Archer World but here in the corporate world, less than a year does not give much time considering the scope of work that needs to be done to meet this deadline, not withstanding the socialization that needs to occur considering a global user base with different work cultures and expectations.

    Still no custom option? I have been following next gen for years and seen improvements, specifically links list got added, but still no option for custom iview style widget? If supported, which version was this added?

    Dear Manvi,

    What about the limitations of these converter? Will customers who have a PS that handles their customization—or even do their own customization—have to pay for the conversion? Is that correct? Will I be making the change, and will customers have to pay to adapt?

    All Dashboards can be converted to new Dashboards using the conversion utility.

    1. Dashboard Conversion Utility: A dedicated dashboard conversion utility is available to help migrate classic dashboards to the new dashboard.  

    2. Create New Dashboards from Existing Reports: Reports already tagged to classic dashboards can be directly used to create new dashboards, ensuring continuity without starting from scratch.
