Improving File Upload Performance and Consistency Across Our Platform
We’re excited to share an important update that enhances the performance and consistency of file uploads across our platform.
What’s Changing?
We are upgrading our MIME type detection system to a modern, platform-independent library. MIME type detection is the process of identifying the format of a file based on its content, which helps applications understand how to handle that file. It is crucial for web browsers and servers to ensure that files are processed correctly, by preventing misinterpretation of file types.
Our upgraded new library is:
- More Accurate: It reliably identifies the true file type, reducing errors and improving compatibility.
- More Performant: Faster detection means smoother uploads and a better user experience.
- Consistent Across Experiences: Ensures uniform behavior no matter where you upload files – Classic, New UI and Engage.
Why This Matters
- Improved Reliability: Common file types (like PDFs, images, and documents) will continue to work seamlessly as before.
- Unified Experience: No more discrepancies between different areas of the platform—file handling will be consistent everywhere.
What You Need to Know
- For most users, this change will be invisible—your regular workflows will continue without interruption.
- If you encounter issues, our support team is here to help.
Rollout Timeline
This change will be available in platform for Archer SaaS clients in 2026.02 and On Premises clients in 2025.12 version.
In short: This update makes file uploads faster, and more predictable across all parts of our platform. Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to improve your experience.
