Are platform releases now specific to SaaS or on-prem where they will no longer have the same release schedule or version number?
This is detail that customers of the platform should be able to obtain easily from either the Archer Community or their account representative. Please work to improve this process for transparency and appropriate software lifecycle management.
As detailed in the roadmap blog, New Archer Platform Release Support, Archer is returning to a once-a-year, new feature & enhancement, release cadence for its OnPrem clients. Throughout 2025, On-Premises clients wishing to receive updates can make use of the LTS release. Clients are encouraged to upgrade to the 2025 designated LTS release, Archer Platform Release version 2024.11. Defect and security patches will be offered throughout the calendar year on an ad hoc basis according to Archer’s LTS policy for ongoing software maintenance & support. These LTS Update releases for 2024.11 will be made available on myArcher.
@Meg Oneil Thank you for the quick response on my inquiry!
I attempted to search the Archer Community for a while looking for something like what is included in the roadmap blog but wasn't able to find this. The content on the page doesn't fully answer my questions on what on-prem customers can expect for a release cycle.
It sounds like on-prem customers will get one release at some point in the calendar year (I believe December but it states 2024.11 is the release for 2025) and there will be some number of LTS releases we can apply (not sure what that really means or how many to expect). It would appear in this model that on-prem customers can no longer expect a full set of feature releases that are reserved for SaaS customer only.
In attempting to follow this content and future updates to the product it would be helpful if the platform digest notification settings could be restored as I have been missing a lot of updates since the transition of the Archer Community to Salesforce.
Linked from the blog are the updated Product Version Lifecyle Policy and new Software Defect Policy that provide a bit more details. But essentially, at the end of each year we are designating a Long Term Support Release (LTS). That release will receive security vulnerability and bug fixes based on the criteria in the Software Defect Policy for the next calendar year. So throughout the year, we will ad hoc publish Update Releases (UR) for the LTS release that contain these items.
At the end of 2024, we designated 2024.11 as the LTS release.
In 2025, 2024.11 may receive UR like 2024.11.01, 2024.11.02, etc.
At the end of 2025, we will release the once-a-year release that contains new features and functionality from the calendar versions issued during 2025 and other items specific to OnPrem clients. This release will be designated as the 2026 LTS release that clients can then receive Update Release for throughout 2026.

What is the next version release that on-prem customers can expect following 2024.11?
Detail for an expected release schedule for SaaS customers is mentioned here: https://help.archerirm.cloud/archerreleasenotes/content/rnhome/rnhome.htm. However, there is no detail provided for on-prem customers.
