Maintenance Update: Retirement of FileAttachment.asmx SOAP Endpoint
As part of our ongoing efforts to streamline and modernize the Archer platform, we are retiring the legacy FileAttachment.asmx SOAP endpoint.
Effective Timeline
- Archer SaaS: The endpoint will be removed in the upcoming 2025.08 release.
- On-Premises Clients: The endpoint will be removed in the 2025 Long-Term Support (LTS) release, to be announced later.
Why This Change?
Following a comprehensive review of our codebase and usage analytics, we’ve confirmed that the FileAttachment.asmx endpoint is no longer in use and does not perform any functional operations. Retiring this endpoint allows us to reduce technical debt and focus on maintaining actively used and supported features.
What You Need to Know
- No customer action is required - this endpoint is not actively used.
- File Repository integration remains fully supported through our RESTful API, which provides a more modern, secure, and efficient approach to file handling.
Moving Forward
We encourage all developers and integrators to continue using the RESTful API for file-related operations. If you need assistance or have questions about transitioning to RESTful services, our documentation and support teams are available to help.
