SASB Standards
The landscape of ESG reporting is marked by various frameworks, with Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) standing out as one of the most widely embraced voluntary standards. Tailored to 77 industries, SASB Standards aim to identify and standardize disclosure on sustainability issues crucial to investors’ decision-making.
Transition to IFRS
In August 2022, the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) under the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation took charge of SASB Standards. IFRS is committed to maintaining and enhancing SASB Standards that play a crucial role in meeting the requirements of IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards. IFRS ISSB encourages SASB continuous utilization.
In June 2023, the SASB Standards adapted their climate-related content to align with IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures, adding a layer of cohesion. These SASB Standards updates also ensure a seamless transition, replacing jurisdiction-specific references and definitions without causing significant shifts in industries, topics, or metrics.
