Easy Offline Audits with Our New Export and Import Feature 

For most companies, having access to the internet for daily operations is standard. However, there are times when audits need to be performed in offline environments. In these situations, manually extracting information from your system and then re-entering it can become a cumbersome task. To simplify this, we’ve introduced a new feature that allows auditors to seamlessly export and re-import workpaper data—no need for admin intervention. 

Effortless Data Export

The process is straightforward and begins directly within the workpaper. You can choose the specific fields you need to export, including cross-referenced data, ensuring you gather all the relevant information required for your audit. After selecting the fields, the export’s progress is displayed in the history tab, where you can also download the file. 

Once the file is downloaded, you'll find it organized in Excel with each application represented on a separate sheet. Additionally, a Field Glossary sheet is included, providing a detailed overview of all the fields that were exported. 

Seamless Data Import 

After completing your offline audit and making updates in the Excel file, you can easily upload the information back into the system. When you’re back online, navigate to the workpaper and start the import process. 

The system will first validate that the Excel file contains all the required data. Once validated, the import process will begin, allowing you to either update existing records or create new ones across multiple applications—all from a single import file. As with the export, the import process includes a history log that shows the status of the upload and provides a summary of how many records were modified or added. 

Important Update: Availability and Deprecation of Legacy Offline Functionality 

As part of our 2024.06 release, the new and improved Audit Workpaper Export/Import will simplify the offline audit process for our users. In line with this enhancement, we will be retiring the legacy Archer Offline functionality. This updated experience offers a more streamlined approach, requiring only Microsoft Excel for offline audits. By reducing the administrative overhead previously needed, this change ensures a smoother, more efficient workflow for auditors.
