We’ve listened — and we’re excited to announce a powerful new enhancement that will help streamline your assessment process and improve the accuracy of vendor responses: Question and Field-Level Help Text in Engage!
🆕 What’s New?
With our latest update, Archer users can now add question- and field-level help text that flows directly into the Engage portal. This means Engage users/vendors will now see helpful guidance right next to each question — reducing confusion and saving time for everyone involved.
✅ Prerequisites
To start using this feature, ensure the following versions are in place:
- Engage Agent: Version 4.2.0 or above
- Archer Version: 2025.04 or above
Note: Even after upgrading, help text won’t flow by default. A few quick configurations are required.
⚙️ How to Enable Help Text in Archer
Here’s how to set it up:
Text Field Properties Configuration
- In Archer, navigate to Edit Mode of Text Field Properties for the question or field you want to enhance.
- Set the Text Placement to Above, Below, or Tooltip Icon.
- In the Engage portal, help text will always appear as a Tooltip Icon for a clean and consistent UI.
- If you select ‘None’, the help text will not flow to Engage.
Enable Help Text in Engage Configuration Tab
- Go to the Engage Configuration tab for your application or questionnaire.
- Check the new checkbox labeled ‘Enable Help Text’.
- By default, this checkbox is unchecked.
Custom Object
If you're managing configuration via a custom object, use the key "IsHelpTextEnabled" and set the value to true or false based on whether help text should be enabled for that application or questionnaire.

🔍 What It Looks Like in Engage
Once configured and the assessment is published, the help text will be visible in the Engage portal. A tooltip icon will appear next to the relevant field or question. When vendors click on it, they’ll instantly see the additional context you’ve provided — leading to faster, more accurate responses.
