The Next Gen JST Service is now available for opt-in in Archer SaaS. It’s more than a infrastructure upgrade—this service brings improved performance, advanced logging, and a modern execution environment to power your JavaScript data feeds. With a focus on developer experience, stability, and long-term scalability, it marks a major step forward in Archer modernisation.
Starting October 15th, Non-Production environments will be automatically switched to the NextGen JST
Coexistence Period: Legacy & Next Gen JST
To support a smooth migration, both services will run in parallel until December 31, 2025.
Use Archer Instance Management (AIM) to toggle between the two during this period.
After December 31, 2025, Legacy JST will be deprecated, and all environments will move to the Next Gen JST Service.
What’s New
- Containerized Execution Each script now runs in an isolated container, improving performance and fault isolation.
- Developer Logs in UI Easily debug and optimize scripts with detailed execution logs. Check out this blog to learn how to view JST Data Feed logs in Archer SaaS.
- Modern Node.js Support Updated Node.js runtime allows you to use current libraries with enhanced speed and security.
- No More EdgeJS The deprecated EdgeJS library has been removed, simplifying and strengthening the execution environment.
Script Update Guidance
- Proxy Parameters The service no longer requires a proxy parameter. Scripts using it will still run, but custom proxy-named fields may cause issues. Refer to this Blog for details
- Data Writing Pattern Use the Output Writer API instead of callback-based methods like callback(null, record), which will be deprecated soon.
The Next Gen JST Service is the foundation for more scalable and maintainable data feed integrations in Archer SaaS.
