We are pleased to announce a wide range of new, customer-driven enhancements to the Risk and Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA) capability within the Risk Management solution. Together, these updates provide a more flexible tool better aligned to the ways risk teams operate today.
For many organizations, RCSAs are foundational to understanding risk—helping teams identify what could go wrong, evaluate the effectiveness of controls, and prioritize remediation efforts before issues escalate. After extensive feedback from customers across industries, our Product team has reimagined this RCSA experience, making it more adaptable, more insightful, and far less burdensome for risk owners and business users.
A Modernized, Workshop‑Driven Approach
Ultimately, the redesigned RCSA experience replaces static, survey‑driven processes with a more dynamic, workshop‑style model. This approach allows teams to collaborate directly within their existing risk register and control framework, without the need for temporary assessment environments or duplicative data entry. The result is a streamlined, intuitive workflow that supports the ongoing, integrated RCSA process our customers already use.
More Flexible Scoping to Fit Your Organization
We know every organization structures risk differently, so we built the new RCSA experience to accommodate that reality. New scoping features include:
- Multi‑RCSA Launch - Run multiple assessments simultaneously across processes or business units.
- Flexible RCSA Scoping - Configure a single assessment to span multiple processes or areas of the business.
- Risk‑Level Reviewer Assignment - Engage the right stakeholders at the right times, bring in risk subject matter experts across relevant RCSAs.
These enhancements ensure the RCSA process adapts to your program—not the other way around.
Clearer Insight Through Purpose‑Built Visualization
Sometimes you just want to quickly check on your risk posture without diving into the data. Archer’s updated visualizations surface the right level of insight at the right time.
- Top‑Level Metrics along the top of the RCSA provides an at‑a‑glance view of your risk profile. These metrics are automatically updated as you assess your risks.
- Risk & Control Matrix showcases a quick summary of each risk with their associated controls, making it easier than ever to understand what is there, with the ability to drill down for more information.
These enhancements support better decision‑making by presenting either summary or detailed views in a simple manner, designed for risk leaders and operational owners alike.
A More Efficient, Adaptable User Experience
The new RCSA capability delivers a consistent, adaptable design that reduces repetitive work and keeps users focused on what matters most. Changes to the UI include:
- Standardized Layout - A unified structure across all assessments.
- Shared Control Assessments - Assess shared controls once and auto‑update everywhere they apply.
- Aligned Architecture - Updated product architecture better respects existing customer customizations.
- Configuration Friendly – Fully compatible for clients using their own scales, assessment methodology, and configurations on risk and control layouts.
These improvements not only simplify assessment execution but also reduce the administrative overhead that has historically slowed RCSA cycles.
Seamless Deployment for Existing Customers
This enhancement is delivered through three new applications—RCSA, RCSA Campaign, and Risk Snapshots—built as a streamlined, additive package for risk customers. After installing the package update, your existing self‑assessment application remains untouched, ensuring continuity with no disruption to current configurations or historical data during the transition.
